LEESBURG, Fla. – Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) volleyball opened Sun-Lakes Conference play with a thrilling three-set win over South Florida State College (SFSC) on Wednesday evening.
Samantha Beatty continued her offensive hot streak recording 10 kills with three aces and seven digs. Beatty continues to lead the conference with kills per set at 3.91.
In her first start of the season, Emma Van Deusen hit .500 with nine kills in 16 attempts.
Setter Giada Viti posted 16 assists with a pair of aces and seven digs.
With the win, the Lakehawks improve to 1-0 in conference play and 6-0 on the season. The team's 6-0 record is presumed to be the best start to a season in program history.
The Lakehawks continue conference play at home this weekend hosting Palm Beach State on Friday, Sept. 5 at 6:00 p.m. and Indian River on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 1:00 p.m.
