Leesburg, Fla. – Almost a month into three active spring sports and Lake-Sumter State College volleyball is set for their home opener against St. John's River State College.
The Lakehawks took down Florida State College – Jacksonville in four sets over the weekend. Jacksonville was able to take the first set before LSSC ripped off three sets in a row to take the match.
Xiomara Williams put up a double-double with 17 kills and 13 digs while notching five blocks. Her performance was good enough to earn her Region 8 DII Volleyball Player of the Week honors. Macey McGinnis tabbed a team high 14 digs in the match while Kayla Chambliss posted a ridiculous 45 assists on the night.
Lake-Sumter (1-1) will take on St. John's and their perfect 6-0 record Wednesday at 6 pm.
