Lakehawk Volleyball Places Three on All-Sun-Lakes Teams
The team will kick off the FCSAA Championship on Friday at 1:00 p.m.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Volleyball) – The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) announced the 2025 post season accolades on Thursday evening. Three Lakehawks are represented on the teams.
Samantha Beatty was named to the All-Sun-Lakes Conference First Team and the All-FCSAA Team. Anna Evans and Emma Van Deusen earned a spot on the All-Sun-Lakes Conference Second Team.
Samantha Beatty, Outside Hitter
Joining the team this year as a freshman, Beatty led the Lakehawks offensively all season. In 27 matches, Beatty has 346 kills at 3.30 kills per set. She adds 61 aces.
Defensively, she has 339 digs at 3.23 digs per set with 39 total blocks, 11 solo.
For the season, Beatty recorded 16 double-doubles, achieving 10 or more kills and digs in a single match to lead the team.
Head Coach Alisha Wintersdorf shared her thoughts on Beatty's success, "Sammi has been a driving force for us all season – an explosive threat with a competitive motor that never shuts off. Her leadership and consistency set the tone for our program."
"As her coach, I have seen firsthand how much pride she takes in every rep, every match, and every teammate. This honor reflects the work she has put in and the standard she has helped establish for Lakehawk Volleyball."
At the conference level, Beatty ranks within the top-10 in several stat categories. She is fourth for kills, sixth for kills per set, third in aces, and ninth in digs.
Anna Evans, Middle Blocker
Evans, the only returning starter on this young Lakehawk squad, earned Second Team All-Sun-Lakes Conference, the first accolade of her career.
As a middle, Evans recorded 51 total blocks, 10 solo, in the regular season. She added 40 digs showing versatility on the court.
Offensively, she finished the regular season with 131 kills for a .220 hitting percentage. She also has 37 service aces.
"Anna brings relentless energy to our program delivering big blocks, big swings, and big moments when we need them most. Her intensity in the middle has been a game-changer and a spark for our tam all season."
"I have watched her grow into a consistent, confident leader who plays with heart and purpose every single day; this recognition is so well deserved for that reason. She has earned it through her work ethic, passion, and ability to elevate everyone around her," said Coach Wintersdorf.
Emma Van Deusen, Outside Hitter
Van Deusen joins Evans on the All-Sun-Lakes Conference Second Team as an Outside Hitter. She is now a two-time all-conference recipient after being named to the first team as a freshman at St. Johns River State College in 2024.
In 82 sets played, she registered 176 kills at 2.15 kills per set. She maintained a .218 hitting percentage with 533 total attacks.
On defense, she recorded 75 digs and 46 total blocks, 16 solo.
"Emma has been the glue that holds our offense together. As a transfer sophomore who stepped into multiple roles, she has led with composure, intelligence, and a deep understanding of the game."
"I have admired how quickly she has adapted, learned and led by example. Her high volleyball IQ and ability to make great decisions in big moments have made a lasting impact on our program and make her so deserving of this honor," said Coach Wintersdorf.
The Lakehawks kick off the postseason on Friday, Nov. 6 in Fort. Pierce, Fla. for the 2025 FCSAA DII Volleyball Championship. The Lakehawks enter the tournament as the fourth seed.
Lake-Sumter will open the championship against #5 St. Petersburg College at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The winner will advance to the semifinal match against the top-seeded Gulf Coast State College at 7:00 p.m.
The championship match is set for Saturday, Nov. 7 at 1:00 p.m. The 2025 champion will receive the only South Atlantic District automatic bid while the rest of the teams await an at-large bid to the national championship.
Coach Wintersdorf in just her second season with the team shares her excitement for her first trip to this championship with the Lakehawks, "I am so proud of how far this team has come. They have grown, battled, and earned every opportunity ahead of them."
"As we head into the conference tournament, we are ready to fight for every point and leave it all on the court."
