Wanberg Named Region 8 Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Softball) – The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) announced the weekly awards for Sept. 8-14 on Tuesday morning. Joselyn Wanberg was named the DII Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Lakehawks to three straight wins last week.
In three matches last week, Wanberg dug 52 balls with a career-high of 26 digs against Pasco-Hernando State College on Wednesday. With her performance against Pasco-Hernando, she earned a spot in the Region 8 25-Dig Club for the first time this season.
"Joselyn has been a rock for us defensively. Her consistency in the back row and ability to read the game made a huge impact this week," said Head Coach Alisha Wintersdorf.
"Her relentless effort and leadership has set the tone for us defensively and continues to raise the standard for our program."
At this time, Wanberg ranks second in the conference for digs with 168 and third for digs/set with 4.31.
Joselyn and the Lakehawks go on the road tonight for their first Top-25 matchup of the season against No. 19 St. Johns River State College. The game will be available to watch via livestream here.
