Lakehawk Golf Completes Day One of SSC Fall Warmup
ORLANDO, Fla. (Women's Golf) – Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) women's golf completed the program's first outing as a team on Monday morning at the Fall Warmup hosted by Seminole State College at Rio Pinar Golf Club.
Lake-Sumter competes in a field of 40 student-athletes from seven schools: Stetson University (NCAA), Florida Southern College (NCAA), University of Tampa (NCAA), Seminole State College (NJCAA), Eastern Florida State College (NJCAA), Palm Beach State College (NJCAA), and Florida Gateway College (NJCAA).
The Lakehawks faced a challenging introduction to their first tournament in Orlando, contending with soggy course conditions, opening-day nerves, and the steep learning curve of collegiate competition. Competitors faced waterlogged fairways which turned routine shots into unpredictable tests with drives plugging in soft ground and putts losing speed on drenched greens.
Despite the conditions, the team pushed to end the round with a strong finish as the weather throughout the day improved. The team looks to reset for round two tomorrow.
Round Two Pairings:
Hole 1, 8:30 a.m. – Annabelle Roy, C. Blanc (PBSC), Isabella Smith (FGC)
Alexis Westbay, P. DiFrancecso (FGC), J. Hinojosa (PBSC)
Hole 2, 8:30 a.m. – Wies Bouwma, M. Tesiero (FGC), I. Hansen (PBSC)
Lillian Dunn, C. Spratlin (FGC), J. Danckwerth (PBSC)
