Amy Bak Named to 2025 NJCAA Rawlings Gold Glove Team
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Softball) – Rawlings Sporting Goods Company revealed the 2025 NJCAA Rawlings Gold Glove Awards presented by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). Sophomore Amy Bak was recognized among 26 other student-athletes nationwide from all three divisions within the NJCAA.
This season, Bak boasted a 1.000 fielding percentage to snag a spot on the gold glove team in the pitcher position. Bak is accompanied by St. Johns River State College catcher Jenny Bouthillier as the only other Region 8 DII student-athlete to make the list.
Head Coach Jay Miller shared his thoughts on Bak's award, "To win a defensive award as a pitcher shows the absolute detail in Amy's preparation. As a program, we do dedicate time to pitcher's fielding practice at least once a week; that includes different types of bunt defense, line drives, pop flies, run downs, and backup situations."
"It takes all facets of the game to help your team. Amy led our team in wins, was first team all-region, and is now the owner of a Rawlings Gold Glove award.
"Our team and coaching staff are incredibly proud of her, she is a great representative of our program," said Coach Miller.
For her career, Bak maintained a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in 36 total chances across 63 appearances on the mound. In two years, Bak recorded an 18-10 record with three saves on the mound. In 196.0 innings pitched, she posted a 3.18 ERA with 124 strikeouts.
Recipients of the Rawlings Gold Glove Award, presented by the NFCA, were selected by the NFCA's NJCAA DI and DII All-America Committees, following regional voting to identify the finalists at each position.
The groups utilized fielding statistics and school-submitted video to closely examine the finalists and select winners at every defensive position. Any student-athlete that competed in the current championship year and was nominated by their head coach who is a member in good standing with the NFCA was eligible for consideration for this prestigious accolade.
