PREVIEW: Lakehawk Softball at 2025 FCSAA DII Softball Championship
PALATKA, Fla. (Softball) – Lake-Sumter State College (LSSC) Softball travels to Palatka, Fla. for the 2025 FCSAA DII Softball Championship on May 1-3. The Lakehawks enter the tournament as the No. 2 seed after finishing the regular season with a 22-6 record in Sun-Lakes Conference play.
Because St. Johns River State College (SJRSC) were the 2024 conference champions, they earned the bid to host the tournament this year. All games will be played at Viking Field in Palatka, Fla.
Lake-Sumter will face the No. 3 seeded Pasco-Hernando State College in the opening round on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. No. 1 SJRSC is set to play No. 4 Florida Gateway at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
After the first round, the tournament transitions to double elimination format.
The first round losing teams will drop into the loser's bracket and play to keep their seasons alive for one more game at 10:00 a.m. on Friday morning.
The winners of the first round will face off at 1:00 p.m. The final team left undefeated will advance to the FCSAA title game on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
