Indianapolis, Ind. – Lake-Sumter State College is just a few months away from their inaugural season of Cross Country at the South Lake Campus, but their Coach, Cristy Snellgroves, is already in the spotlight.
It was announced Thursday that Snellgroves would be on the USATF National Team coaching staff. There will be five international competitions in 2019, including the IAAF World Relays in Yokohama and the IAAF World Championships in Doha, Qatar.
In addition, USATF is sending full teams and staff to the 2019 Europe vs. USA Match, NACAC U23 and Pan American U20 Championships. More than 110 staff members will serve Team USATF athletes on these five teams. Athlete rosters will be announced as teams are finalized.
"I was chosen as the Team USA Women's Distance Coach for the 2019 Europe vs. USA Match to take place in Minsk, Belarus this September," said Snellgroves. "I am so honored and humbled to be selected as part of such an accomplished staff of managers, coaches, and medical personnel representing Team USA."
LSSC Men's and Women's Cross Country is preparing for their first season as the first sports to call the South Lake Campus home.
